New Years Day

A new year, a new start...well not really as the song says nothing changes on new years day! Today is just the same as yesterday, and the day before in reality. People do use the start of a new year to make resolutions to do things better or differently, but most are discarded soon afterwards, so whats the point?

There are lots of things I do want to do differently, and I can start the changes anytime, it does not have to be today's date that makes me do them. It is high time that I did lose some weight and got fitter. Having lost a parent at a young age myself, I want to see my boys grow up. I will look after myself better, I will build even stronger relationships with family and friends.

At our church we are being encouraged to read the bible in a year. This I intend to do as well. I believe reading God's word will help me achieve my aims mentioned above. I am sure you could achieve them without knowing God, but you are then dependent on will power alone. I want to be with you night and day, and the you to whom I refer is the spirit of God.

Happy New Year to you all.

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one

I...I will begin again
I...I will begin again

Oh...
Maybe the time is right
Oh...maybe tonight...

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

And so we're told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
